Julian Fernando Casablancas (né le 23 août 1978) est le chanteur des Strokes. Il a composé la grande majorité des chansons des trois premiers albums du groupe. Julian Casablancas est le fils de John Casablancas (fondateur de l'agence de mannequins Elite), et de Jeanette Christjansen (un mannequin danoise élue Miss Danemark en 1965). Il a deux demi-frères et une demi-sœur. Il est très jeune quand ses parents divorcent et est alors éduqué par sa mère et son compagnon, le peintre Sam Adoquei.
