Judy and Mary est un groupe japonais de jpop des années 1990. Il s'est formé en 1991 avec la rencontre du bassiste Yoshihito Onda (恩田快人) et la vocaliste Yuki Isoya (磯谷有希), à Hakodate, Hokkaidō. Le batteur Kohta Igarashi (五十嵐公太) et le guitariste Takuya Asanuma (浅沼拓也) rejoignirent ensuite le groupe. Judy Mowatt est une chanteuse de reggae jamaïcaine. Elle est née en 1952 à Gordon, Saint Andrew, en Jamaïque. A 13 ans elle devient membre d'une troupe de danse qui a tourné dans son pays et d'autres îles des Caraïbes. Elle forme le groupe des Gaylettes, en 1967, avec deux des adolescentes de son groupe de danse. Cependant le groupe finira par se séparer. The Judybats were an "alternative rock" band from Knoxville, Tennessee. They recorded four albums and two singles from 1990 to 1994 and had minor success with a cover of Roky Erickson's "She Lives (In A Time of Her Own)" and their 1993 song "Being Simple". Other fan favorites were "Don't Drop the Baby", "Ugly on the Outside", "She's Sad She Said", "All I Want To Do Is F*ck Your Hair", and a cover of the Gary Numan track "Cars", the latter two being b-sides. Judith Allen Roderick was born in 1942. She released her first album, Ain't Nothin' But the Blues in 1964. Her best selling album, Woman Blue was recorded in 1965 with accompaniment by two guitarists, Dick Weissman and Artie Traum. In 1966, Woman Blue was released in the United Kingdom and a promotional trip was arranged. Judy Roderick performed at many clubs in UK and also in the Cambridge Folk Festival.
