Freddy Fender (born Baldemar Garza Huerta in San Benito, Texas, USA on 4 June 1937 – 14 October 2006) was a Mexican-American Tejano, country and rock and roll musician, known for his work as a solo artist and in the groups Los Super Seven and the Texas Tornados. He is best known for his 1975 hits "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" and the subsequent remake of his own "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights". GENDER makes original and quality electronic pop. The band was formed in 2002 by the two childhood friends Johan Friman and Jesper Henke. In 2004 GENDER released their first record, the GENDER EP, with influences from genres as disco, techno and synthpop. In 2005 the band released Help Crush GENDER, a record which took the sound close to new romantic electropop. GENDER are currently working with material to a forthcoming album which will be released in 2007. .
