Paquita la del Barrio is the stage name of Francisca Viveros Barradas, a Mexican singer of rancheras and other Mexican styles. Barradas was born in Alto Lucero, Veracruz, and started her career in Mexico City in 1970. In her songs she takes a stance against Mexico's sexist male culture, which has made her popular especially with female audiences. Her signature phrase, with which she often teases male spectators in her shows, is "Me estás oyendo, inútil?" ("Are you listening, useless?") Aquilo is an English duet consisting of Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher and based in Silverdale, Lancashire. Tom and Ben were originally the frontmen in rival bands in their hometown. Higham was jumping around on stage making heavy metal while Fletcher was thrashing out melodic grunge rock.
Higham then started producing tracks solo – just him and his guitar. Fletcher, too, started putting his solo songs on SoundCloud. Tom and Ben are neighbours. So, after stumbling across Fletcher's music online Higham suddenly thought he could start making music with "that lad across the road". .
Soul Survivor is a worldwide Christian charity based in Watford, London. It runs charismatic Christian festivals worldwide that share the name Soul Survivor. The biggest of these festivals occurs every August at the Royal Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet.
