The Korea is a Russian band from St. Petersburg mixing different styles of heavy music such as mathcore/alternative metal. The band was formed in spring of 2003 in St. Petersburg. Since that moment Korea at once has carved its own niche in the musical environment as an extraordinary and original band. Koreana is a family act from Korea. In the 70's and 80's they worked the European dance club circuit and released a handful of studio albums on the Polydor label. Their club act consisted mostly of covers of popular songs, but their "intermissions" included a lot of original material and some fantastic displays of showmanship. Koreana gained world-wide recognition when they played for the 1988 Olympic games at Seoul. .
