I Secondhand Serenade sono un progetto solista acoustic rock capitanato dal cantante e chitarrista John Vesely. Il progetto solista è iniziato nel 2004. Vesely ha rilasciato duo album di studio che possono essere annoverati sotto il nome di Secondhand Serenade, quali Awake nel 2007 e A Twist in My Story nel 2008. L'album di debutto presenta l'impiego della registrazione multitraccia per creare il sound di una band con l'uso della tecnologia, mentre il secondo disco ha adottato un metodo diverso, facendo uso di una band reale e di un'orchestra per chiarire un suono più compatto.
