John Groves, American didgeridoo musician, teacher and seller. Resides in the Seattle, Washington area and is active as a teacher, performer and seller of didgeridoos at JGMP Didgeridoo Gallery in Auburn, Washington, USA. He has performed private functions and public events such as the Bank of America Down Under Tour, National Music Museum and many other appearances. Mr. Groves is available for private lessons, workshops and performances. Growing up in Tyler, Texas, Groves is a songwriter at heart but has the swagger and look of a rock star (a first for Rocketown!). Rob Smoughton aka Grovesnor was a member of Hot Chip from 2001 to 2003 when he left to start his solo project.
In 2009 he returned as the band's drummer for the "One Life Stand" tour and in 2012 moved to guitar, bass, percussion, backing vocals and synths.
He features in the videos for "Night and Day" and "Don't Deny Your Heart" and regularly records with the band, featuring more prominently from the album "In Our Heads" onwards. .
