There are two artists by this name. 1) The Divine are a gothic/industrial band originating from Barrie, Ontario, Canada. 2) The Divine is also a Club / Hip Hop / R&B duo from Los Angeles. The poster boy's of alt.sex.fetish, the "Barbie doll's" of the underground industrial goth world. Armed with crunching guitars, pounding drums loops, melodic vocals, sinful synths, complete with their own make-up case and extensive wardrobe, these bitches have everything. 1998年、イタリアのトスカーナ州マッサ＝カッラーラ県マッサで結成。 オラフ・トールセン（当時ラビリンスのギター・プレーヤー）のプロジェクト・バンドとして誕生した、イタリアのメロディックスピードメタル/プログレッシブ・メタルバンドである。 直後、ファビオ・リオーネ（ラビリンスの1stアルバム『No Limits』のリードシンガーで、現ラプソディー・オブ・ファイアのフロントマン）が加入すると、プロジェクト・バンドは一つの独立したバンドへと急速に姿を変えていった。 2002年、オラフ・トールセンはラビリンスを脱退しヴィジョン・ディヴァインに専念。 2003年にファビオ・リオーネに代わり、高いスキルと才能を持つミケーレ・ルッピ（1998年ロサンジェルスのV.I.T.を卒業）がバンドに加入し、バンドは更なる成長を見せる。 1998年 ヴィジョン・ディヴァイン、オラフ・トールセンのソロ・プロジェクト（当時ラビリンスのギタリストであった）誕生。直後、再びファビオ・リオーネ（ラビリンスのファースト・アルバム『No Limits』のリードシンガーで、現ラプソディー・オブ・ファイアのフロントマン）加入。ソロ・プロジェクトは急速に独立したバンドへと急速に姿を変えていく。バンドの名前はオラフ・トールセンがバンドを創設した時のラビリンスの古い呼び名であった"Vision"と、"Divine"-オラフ・トールセンのソロ・アルバムのタイトルを意図する、二つの言葉のコンビネーションから創られた。他のラインナップは、マット・スタンチョーユ（Dr）、アンドリュー・マック・ポールズ（Key）、アンドレア・タワー・トッリチニ（B）。 1999年 1stアルバム、『Vision Divine』リリース。 2000年 南米ツアー：アルゼンチン、チリ、ブラジル、パナマ、メキシコ（共演/ラビリンス、シナジー） 2001年 サイド・ギタリストとしてフェデリコ・プレリ加入。 2002年 2ndアルバム、『Send me an Angel』リリース。同2002年終盤、オラフ・トールセンがラビリンスを脱退、ヴィジョン・ディヴァインに専念することを発表。マット・スタンチョーユ（Dr）とアンドリュー・マック・ポールズ（Key）が脱退。後任としてオレグ・スミルノフ（Key-ex Eldritch、Death SS）、マッテオ・アモロゾ（Dr-ex Athena）が加入。 2003年 ファビオ・リオーネ（Vo）脱退。新しいボーカリストとして、高いスキルと才能を持ち（1998年ロサンジェルスのV.I.T.を卒業）ライブ・パフォーマンスに於いても際だった経験を持つミケーレ・ルッピが加入。 2004年 3rdアルバム（コンセプト・アルバム）『Stream of Consciousness』リリース。新ラインナップで希望を新たにしたバンドは、以前のマネージャーやレコード会社との契約を全て打ち切り、新しくイタリア圏内ではスカーレット・レコード、日本向けにキングレコード、その他の地域向けにメタル・ブレイドとの契約を結ぶ。 2005年 初のライブDVD、『Stage of Consciousness』、続いてストラトヴァリウスのティモ・トルキをプロデューサーに迎え制作された4thアルバム、『The Perfect Machine』リリース。この際，長年ライブ時のサポートギタリストであったフェデリコ・プレリ(G)が正式メンバーとなる。同年10月には、念願であった日本公演（大阪・東京）を行う。日本公演後、バンドに大きく貢献したオレグ・スミルノフ（Key）脱退。 2006年 アレッシオ・ルカッティ（Key）、リッキー・クワリアト（Dr）が加入。続いてアンドレア・タワー・トッリチニ（B）が脱退、経験豊富かつ最高水準のベース・プレーヤーの一人であるクリスティアーノ・ベルトッキ（B-ex ラビリンス）が後任として加入。バンドとして結束を深めたバンドは、この9月に北米・南米ツアーを行う予定。またスカーレット・レコードより『The Perfect Machine』のデジパック仕様限定盤もリリースされる。（日本盤未定）10月にリッキー・クワリアト（Dr）が脱退。 2007年 再びティモ・トルキをプロデューサーに迎え、5thアルバム、『The 25th Hour』をリリース。なおドラマーとしてアレッサンドロ・ビサ（Dr）が加入。 2008年 2月にバンド結成10周年の記念として、元メンバーをゲストに迎えライブを行う。4月にミケーレ・ルッピ(Vo)が脱退。5月末にファビオ・リオーネ（Vo）の復帰が発表される。 2009年 『9 Degrees West Of The Moon』をリリース。 2012年 ファビオ復帰第2作目の『Destination Set To Nowhere』をリリース。 .

Songs are a Sydney based band (featuring members of New Zealand's post-punk wailers This Night Creeps and Ela Stiles of sisterly-duo The Said Sos) that do only simple things. From their single-syllable handle to their hand-drawn artwork to their music itself; it all has to be simple. Born in mid-2007, Songs have only been playing to the public as of this year (2008).
