Abraham "Bram" Stoker (November 8, 1847 – April 20, 1912) was an Irish writer, best remembered as the author of the influential horror novel Dracula. 'Bram Stoker' is also the name of an obscure British psychedelic/progressive group that was formed in 1969.They gained a cult following in the early 70's, and released an album in 1972 entitled 'Heavy Rock Spectacular'.' Formed in 2009, The Stokers are a seven headed ska, polka and punk band with influences from Klezmer (such as Gezag), balkan and tearjerkers (such as Niemand om mee te proosten). De Stokers describe their music as Hoompa-punk. It results in a danceable music mix immersed in a saterical sauce. De Stokers are befriended, former members of De Hardheid and Solid Rocket Boosters.
