The Sacred Sailors was formed in 2001, when two friends and music enthusiasts decided to start a band. Together with two other friends from the neighbourhood, the foursome started to rehearse in a basement near Partille, outside Gothenburg, Sweden. After a year or so the foursome became a quintet. This led to the band increasing their sound and starting to find a musical platform that combined the five different personalities with their mutual good taste for music. It might sound like a rock´n´roll cliché, and it just might be one! But there’s nothing common about the sound of The Sacred...
The Hundred Acre Woods, a folk/punk band based in Philadelphia, formed in the latter half of 2009, aims to convey a message that is both young and old. These Philadelphia transplants blend the honesty and sincerity of traditional folk music with the raw energy and drive of punk rock. Drawing influence from both the fast-paced city life, and their suburban roots, The Hundred Acre Woods break the traditional “rules,” of both punk and folk, creating a new and refreshing sound characterized by driving banjo hooks and rich vocal harmonies. The songwriting team of Reinhardt and Stevens culminates in a duality...
Sacrecy is a young metal band from Finland's Lempäälä. Their style could be labeled as melodic metal with elements from progressive rock and power metal. Around 2002 Panu Siik and Olli Hipeli had an idea of forming a band. Both being metalheads it was pretty obvious that it would be a metal band. Panu and Olli asked their friend Antti Viitanen to join the band as a bassist. The band didn't really get any wind beneath its wings until early 2004 when Juho Fabrin joined as a drummer and the band started rehearsing. To ease Panu's guitar work while singing,...
Unsacred Hearts are a rock band from New York City. They have ties to a number of bands of which they were previously members, most notably Cold Memory, of which drummer Travis Harrison and guitarist Dave Siegel were active members. While the Hearts' singer and frontman, Joe Willie, was the primary lyricist for Cold Memory, it wasn't until the formation of Unsacred Hearts that he began to perform. In 2005, Andy Ross (also known for his solo project, Secret Dakota Ring), bassist and founding member of the Unsacred Hearts, moved to California where he eventually joined OK Go as a...
Bernadette’s creative path reads like the back story to a mid-century Hollywood heroine: Ballerina, Beautician, Hell Kitten, Sultry Chanteuse. She spent her childhood in California where she studied classical dance with the renowned Los Angeles Ballet and American Ballet Theatre until an injury drove her love of drag and pageantry north east and underground. Coming of age amidst the gutter glam and jewel toned ink of New York’s early 80’s street punk scene the ballerina scraped by as a sometimes fetish model, makeup artist and clothing designer for the iconic clothing/shoe company Nana. In 1993 Bernadette Seacrest declared Albuquerque home...
