Born of a Tunisian father and a French mother, Dajla grew up in the west of France, on the ocean side, listening to her parents' record collection : soul, blues, arabic music, funk and jazz. Her encounter in 1992 with Fishbone's band members was to change her life for ever. A true combination of all she'd always listened to and loved, an astonishing bag of soul, jazz, blues, rock and p-funk. So much passion and energy gave her the strenght and faith she would need to carry on.

She moves to London in 1994 and joins a rocksteady band, One Hundred Men, teaching English to refugees. Along the way, she plays bass writes songs with pop/garage band Eversholt and collaborates with female vocalist Z Star, playing bass in her band. They tour the UK, and play English festivals. The following years are a succession of trips to Los Angeles, San Diego and New York, meeting rappers and american artists, doing featurings on several projects.

Back in France in 2004, she meets Benjamin Bouton, a multi-skilled producer/drummer wwith urban afro/jazz band Tribeqa (feat. Magik Malik) while producing beats and playing drums for acoustic hip-hop band Sumerian Atlantic Tribe (S.A.T. first EP "Solid" released in April 2005). Together they share a passsion for hip-hop (The Roots, Common...), the Motown sound, soul and jazz, blues and funk. They both play several instruments - guitar, piano, keyboards, bass, drums... It feels right and seems like they've found the partner they had been looking for.

Soul Poetry is achieved in January 2006 and released in France May, 9th 2006.
