Flipper to amerykański zespół punkrockowy z San Francisco utworzony w 1979 przez byłych członków zespołu Negative Trend: basistę Willa Shattera i perkusistę Steve DePace. Wkrótce dołączyli do nich: wokalista Bruce Loose i gitarzysta Ted Falconi. Pierwszych nagrań dokonali pod koniec 1979 na mini składak "SF Underground" (utwór Earthworm). W 1980 ukazał się debiutancki singel: Love Canal. W następnych latach wyszły jeszcze dwa studyjne albumy: Album – Generic Flipper (1982) i Gone Fishin' (1984).

Biografia zespołu
Utworzony został w roku 1964 pod nazwą pierwotną Dancing Band, by po roku działalności przemianować swą nazwę na Dancing Show Band.
W tym czasie trzon zespołu tworzyli : Manfred Durban (perkusja, trąbka) , Claus Backhaus (gitara, saksofon), Franz Halmich (organy, saksofon), Manfred Mössner (gitara), Manfred Hehl (elektrobasy) i Hans Springer (banjo, trąbka). W krótkim czasie z zespołu odszedł Hans Springer, a w jego miejsce do zespołu dołączył Bernd Hengst (gitara, śpiew).

"Flip Flop" are Chris Hanson (aka Touch Tone/Sketchy Pimps/DJ Crispy) and John Monkman (aka Hemi-Sync/Pink Noize), two producers from the UK. Both have been writing trance for over Six years, using this time to hone their production techniques and allow their sound to develop into the kicking Full On/Progressive hybrid that it has become.

Flipp is the bizarre brainchild borne of schizo singer Brynn Arens and drummer Kilo Bale when the pair made an impromptu video of the Who's perennial "My Generation" that accidentally received a huge reaction. Brother and multi-instrumentalist Chia Karaoke Arens and bassist Freaky Useless joined the resulting ride, and the quartet honed their riotous stage act which consisted of (but was not limited to) dumping Flipp cereal on the audience and pulling unsuspecting onlookers onstage to perform. In 1997, Flipp released their eponymous debut on tax day, April 15, and celebrated by performing in front of the Minneapolis Post Office...
