There are at least two artists named Rachid. The second one is a one-time fun single done in the Netherlands for Christmas. Rachid Taha (ur. 18 września 1958 w Sig, niedaleko Oranu) jest francusko-algierskim muzykiem mieszkającym we Francji. Jego muzyka czerpie ispiracje z wielu zródeł, między innymi raï, techno, rock and roll i punk. Syn Kabyla z Sidi Aich; jego matka pochodzi z plemienia Rouargha (Mascara). W 1968 roku wraz z rodziną przybywa do Alzacji. Następnie przez pewien czas mieszka w Lépanges-sur-Vologne, a potem w Lyonie, gdzie w 1981 roku zawiera znajomość z gitarzystą Mohammedem Amini i basistą Moktarem Amini. W 1983 roku tworzą oni grupę Carte de séjour opowiadającą się za integracją i tolerancją wobec imigrantów. W 1984 wydają pierwszy album...
