Phlebotomized is among the oldest deathmetal bands from Holland and one of the first to use violin and synthesizer in extreme metal. During their heydays the band gained a cult status in the underground scene. Phlebotomized is best known for their unconventional song structures, blending atmosphere with grind outbursts. Formed in March 1989, Phlebotomized started as a grindcore outfit, heavily inspired by grind, death- and doom metal. At the end of 1990 -influenced by albums like The key (Nocturnus), Gothic (Paradise lost) and Altars of madness (Morbid Angel)-, the band started to use keyboard and violin arrangements, resulting in their unique sound. In 1997 Phlebotomized disbanded. In 2013, Vic Records re-released Preach eternal gospels and Devoted to God in a special 20th anniversary edition. Phlebotomized re-united after this release and started playing live shows again. Mid-year 2015, musical ideas originated in a growing belief to create a new album. Now, full of energy, with new members and dedication, their new sound and -again- different approach will culminate into a brand new album.
