Pennywise, Amerikan punk rock grubu. 1988 yılında Thirsk (d. 25 Aralık 1967, ö. 29 Temmuz1996, bas), Jim Lindberg (vokal), Byron McMackin (davul) ve Fletcher Dragge (gitar) gibi yerel punk aleminin köklerini oluşturan isimlerin bir araya gelmesiyle, Los Angeles’ın güney sahilindeki Güney Kaliforniya hardcore'unun beşiği olarak anılan Hermosa’nın garajlarında kuruldu. Burası aynı zamanda Black Flag, Circle Jerks ve Descendents gibi efsanevi hardcore gruplarının da doğum yeri olmuştu. İlk albümleri "Word From The Wise" Theologian Records etiketiyle satışa sunuldu ve kısa bir sürede yerel punk/paten/sörf sahnesinde aradığı onayı buldu. There are a few artists who use the name Penny, and this includes: 1.Penny is a new AV project from Asher Levitas (Old Apparatus and Saa) and writer/ artist Michael Crowe (Mysterious Letters) . The debut Penny EP was released in March 2014. It sees Levitas plait and whip spectral R&B, mutant Techno, sombre Acid House and Technicolor industrial while still pulling elements from his previous releases as part of Old Apparatus and Saa. Crowe provides the capslocked costumes for Levitas’ audio to try on and admire itself. Clotting colour stunts and abstract gymnasiums are all flushed and panting puppied...

Chris Pennie is the drummer of the progressive rock group Coheed and Cambria. He was the drummer and co-founder of the band The Dillinger Escape Plan. Chris started playing drums at the age of 13, and at age 16 decided he wanted to pursue music seriously. He spent two years at Berklee College of Music and received a degree in Music Synthesis, focusing on electronic music composition and manipulation As far as drummers, Pennie has cited Lars Ulrich and Stewart Copeland as his main early influences. In regard to his current playing, Sean Reinert is one of his biggest inspirations....
