Flatstick was originally a two man project between Melbourne (Australia) musicians, John Sanders (AKA: Doug Steele) and Gary McKay (R.I.P.). The sound created by the two is best described as Faith No More meets Strapping Young Lad meets Frank Zappa meets Meshuggah meets Pantera meets Mr. Bungle meets Korn, and a dash of jazz (and a slice of electronic dance). Sharpshooters were born back in 1993 on the streets of Seattle, Washington when DJ Sureshot and Mr. Supreme met simply through their reputations of having insane record collections. Two producers with a vast knowledge of Funk, Breaks & Beats, Hip-hop and Reggae soon joined forces to create a unique sound all their own, a combination of the Hip-hop and Jazz worlds which fused dusty breaks with live horns, guitar, and bass. The Luxury Flats are a rock band out of Hudson, NY. The band is composed of Joe V, Damara, Joe Terry, and Mikey. They all lived at Spook Rock; an 18 century house east of Hudson where together where they eat, sleep, record and play croquet. They were named Metrolands best band of 2006. The Luxury Flats broke up and went off to form other musical acts. Damara is now in a bands called Zillah. And Mikey and Joe Terry are now in a band called Saber Coup.
