Grim Reaper (en. "Sensenmann") ist eine englische New-Wave-of-British-Heavy-Metal-Band aus Droitwich, die im Jahr 1979 gegründet wurde, sich 1988 trennte und 2006 wieder zusammenfand.
Geschichte
Die Band wurde im Jahr 1979 von Gitarrist Nick Bowcott gegründet. Nach einigen Besetzungswechseln fand sich mit Sänger Paul DeMercade, Bassist Phil Matthew und Schlagzeuger Angel Jacques gegründet. Im Jahr 1981 erschien das Lied The Reaper auf der Kompilation Heavy Metal Heroes. Ein Jahr später erreichte die Band einen Vertrag mit Ebony Records. Soulreaper was a blackened Death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. After Tobias and Johan left Dissection, they formed this band as a death/black metal outfit. They took their name from a Dissection song from the "Storm Of The Light's Bane" album.
Before releasing their first full-length, the band, which originally was named 'Reaper' had to change their name because of copyright problems with a band under the same name. Consequently, they added 'Soul' to once 'Reaper' in order to create less confusion. .
