The Misanthrope is the acoustic alter ego of Kevin de Groot. Kevin first appeared as half of the post punk duo Janifacy Farm finalists in the South East Essex rock content in 1980. Relocating to Reading, Kevin performed with synth rock band Tirana in the mid 80s. Band Misanthropic Art was created as studio project in autumn 1999 by Sadist a guitarist of Stavropol Black Metal band Baal Zebuth. At the beginning the music was inspired by such senses and emotions as depression, hate, malice and all these gave cause for choosing band's name Misanthropic Art.
