There are three artists with the name Dopamine. 1) Dopamine was a black metal/shoegaze/depressive rock project from China founded by Deng & Jiang in 2008, the vocalist, Zhao (from Be Persecuted) joined later in 2009. They only released a self-titled EP in March 2010, as well as contributing the song "Melting" to a split with Heretoir and Dernier Martyr before splitting up on April 6th, 2010. A compilation entitled "Dying Away in the Deep Fall" was released by one of Deng's record labels in 2011, Pest Productions which featured both songs from their self-titled EP and three previously unreleased tracks....
Being reincarnated as the evil union between seminal Lethbridge garage bands Endangered Ape and Myelin Sheaths is not a bad thing. If anything, Paul Lawton and James Leroy’s newest and most accessible collaboration to date is a welcome break from the usual too-serious landscape of the current southern Alberta punk scene. Instead of struggling to the top of the heap imitating any number of buzz worthy garage or hardcore bands, Lawton and Leroy have put a unique spin on surf-music and claimed it for their own. Getting early support from Chicago label HoZac records, with their smash single “Line by...
fDeluxe is The Family renamed. The Family was a protege band formed by Prince after the break-up of The Time once Purple Rain ended. (Actually, by the time the movie hit theaters, The Time had long since disbanded.) Left over members Paul Peterson (who had replaced The Time original member Monte Moir on keyboards), Jellybean Johnson and Jerome Benton, were grouped with Susannah Melvoin (twin sister of Wendy from The Revolution + Wendy & Lisa), and Eric Leeds (sax player for The Revolution on tour only). The Family released one self-titled album in 1985 on Prince's new Paisley Park Records...
Ducks Deluxe were an English pub rock band from the 1970s. Martin Belmont, Nick Garvey, Sean Tyla and Tim Roper formed the band in 1972 (see 1972 in music). Ducks Deluxe remained a cult band throughout their career, with their first and best LP, Ducks Deluxe, achieving moderate commercial success only after the band broke up in 1975 (see 1975 in music) because the members had gone on to greater fame in Graham Parker & the Rumour, Tyla Gang and the Motors. .
This name is used by more than one artist. 1) Gamine (MySpace page, Facebook page) is a London duo that draws heavily on torch songs and French Film Noir. Comprised of vocalist Claudia Barton and composer/producer Ian Williams, the duo create a uniquely dark and seductive sound that you won't find in the midst of the over-synthesized Billboard Top 100. Clear, lingering notes and hooks on a grand piano are Gamine's arsenal and they come fully loaded. 2) Gamine was a French pop-rock band of the mid 80's. Their album "Voila les anges" (1988) is one of the nicest French...
