Behind the Scenes wurde im Jahr 1993 von Michael Roeder (A Spell Inside) und Fred Büntig (Ex-The Merry Thoughts) gegründet. 1997 produzierte Behind the Scenes ihr Debütalbum Fragment, das 1998 bei EuroMedia/Novatekk veröffentlicht wurde. Kurz nach der Veröffentlichung stieg das Album von 0 auf 19 in die Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC) ein. Es folgten zahlreiche Sampler-Beiträge, Radio-Shows und Anfang 2000 das zweite Album Homeless bei Bloodline. There are two artists with this name: a Swedish metal band and an American electronic musician. Obscene was an obscure death/doom metal band from Sweden, having formed in 1990, and only releasing a single demo in the same year, entitled "Grotesque Experience". Obscene play a progressively structured form of Death Metal, building an immense atmosphere, whilst incorporating entrancing, spooky, and downright eerie riffs.
