Plusieurs groupes portent le nom de Catharsis
1/ Catharsis est un groupe de rock progressif français de 1971 à 1977.
La musique de Catharsis, d'inspiration médiévale, est essentiellement instrumentale avec des compositions influencées par les Pink floyd époque Ummagumma, sur une première période (1971-73), et une deuxième période inspirée plus jazzy, avec une formation réduite aux quatre principaux membres du groupe (1975-77).
Les membres sont :

KATARSIS fue conformada en el año 2002. Y desde entonces se ha interesado por hacer líricas con contenido social combinadas con las distorsiones y las melodías características del heavy metal clásico. The idea of Exarsis was born in 2009 and the permanent line up was completed at July of 2010 in Greece.
2010 - On August they recorded “Demo 2010” which was sold out on live shows.
Exarsis kept composing new material and started touring Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Korinthos, Kiato, Nafplio, Nemea,) while recording on a home studio their first full length album.
2011 - The "Under Destruction" debut album was recorded and produced exclusively by Exarsis on 2011 and originally released by Athens Thrash Attack and Eat Metal Records.

Sebastian Krüger (SBK) and Linus Wessel began working together in the mid-nineties as part of the group Digital Sun. Their first substantial success came with the release of the tribal-influenced Goa trance album The Spiral Of Power on Polytox Records in 1997.
