Arctica are primarily Kim Stanley and Lloyd Cox. They record songs made up on the spot, with a microphone hanging from a lightbulb in a 100% improvised fashion. Nothing is taken away or censored and what you hear was completely created in the moment with no beforehand thought or writing. On hugely rare occasions, Arctica play live with the assistance of Loz Hancock(drums) and Michael Gammon(bass). Sonata Arctica est un groupe finlandais de heavy metal mélodique, né en 1996 à Kemi. Le groupe a d'abord été baptisé "Tricky Beans", puis "Tricky Means", noms sous lesquels il a enregistré ses premières démos . Le nom "Sonata Arctica" a finalement été adopté en 1999. C'est également à cette époque que ce groupe débute une rivalité avec Children of Bodom (rivalité déclenchée par les guitaristes Alexi Laiho et Jani Liimatainen qui a quitté le groupe il a y a peu suite à des problèmes internes qu'il causait). The Antarcticans are a five-piece Los Angeles based instrumental-attack-noise group that formed in 2002. In recordings and in their performances, The Antarcticans are a violent takeover of overwhelming feedback-peaking builds of heart-breaking psych-trips.
