Helloween est un groupe de metal allemand fondé en 1978 par Kai Hansen et Piet Slieck sous le nom de Gentry puis Second Hell puis Iron Fist lorsqu'Ingo Schwichtenberg et Markus Grosskopf rejoignent le groupe. Piet quitte le groupe pour se consacrer à ses études d'ingénieur du son.
Kai Hansen rencontre alors Michael Weikath (Powerfool) qui viendra compléter le line up du quartet.
Le groupe veut changer de nom et choisi Halloween (déjà déposé par un groupe italien et canadien). Sur une idée d'Ingo, le groupe change le "A" en "E" et devient enfin HELLOWEEN.

Unlike some dance CDs which use the version by the original artist Klaus Hallen's orchestra plays the piece of music in strict-time accompanied by the vocals of an impersonator.
