In January of 2009, lifelong brothers Jon Lambert and Jordan Taylor sat down in a small house in Olympia, Washington US and discussed the idea of playing shows as a two piece temporarily. Since the group foundation in 1993, Yamato travells around the world with Japan's traditional Wadaiko drums. The group was born in Nara that is said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture.
