日本のヴィジュアル系・ミクスチャー系ロックバンド。フリーウィル所属。 俗に言うお洒落系（オサレ系、カジュアル系とも称される）のルーツともされる。 2001年8月活動開始。ドラムのメンバーチェンジを繰り返し、結果ドラムレスバンドに至る。 2003年7月24日、シングル『我伐道』でメジャーデビュー。初期の音楽性は典型的なヴィジュアル系の音楽性だったがメジャーデビュー以降からはヴィジュアル系バンドとしてはめずらしいミクスチャー音楽を取り入れた音楽性に変わる。 同年9月、突如活動を休止するも12月のライブで活動再開する。 2004年4月7日、シングル『ila.』を皮切りにコンスタンスに作品のリリースを続けるも、9月11日に万作の脱退による解散を発表。12月25日のZepp Tokyoで行われたラストライブ『baroque last live 無未来-NO FUTURE-』にて解散。 その後、怜と圭はkannivalism、万作と晃はboogiemanとして活動。 2011年7月17日、6年半ぶりに活動を再開、横浜でフリーライブを敢行。 2012年1月4日にシングル3タイトル同時発売、6日にTOKYO DOME CITY HALLにて復活ライブを行う。 2012年6月24日に万作が突如行方不明、後に脱退。 2012年末に晃が一時離脱、後に脱退。 2014年から怜（Vo）、圭（Gt）という２人の新体制となり サポートメンバーにTOKIE（Ba）、かどしゅんたろう（Dr）を迎え活動中。 メンバー 怜（りょう） -　ボーカル 本名：兒玉龍（こだま りょう） 1982年7月24日生・東京都青梅市出身 圭（けい） - ギター 本名：濱田圭（はまだ けい） 1984年8月12日生・神奈川県座間市出身 元メンバー 晃（あきら） - ギター 本名：大野晃（おおの あきら） 期間：結成～2012年 万作（ばんさく） - ベース 本名：林万作（はやし ばんさく） 期間：結成～2012年 ナル - ドラム 期間：結成～2002年4月2日 祐二 - ドラム 期間：2002年6月8日～2003年5月 .

The Newberry Consort, an early-music, original-instrument chamber ensemble, is a constituent of the Newberry Library's Center for Public Programs. The Consort brings early music to the general public through performances, recordings, and related educational activities. The name "Puirt a Baroque" is a play on puirt a beul, Scottish Gaelic for mouth-music. So, Puirt a baroque means "tunes from the baroque". The group played crossover arrangements of Scottish traditional music and Baroque art music.
