This band formed in 1999 in Mesa, AZ, when lead singer David Jensen and guitarist Hans Ringger started an acoustic project. Both had attended high school together and then did some traveling before hooking up again. Citing Fugazi and the DIY ethos as major influences, Before Braille slowly began composing songs, adding bass player Brandon Smith, drummer Kelly Reed and guitar virtuoso Rajiv Patel. Braille Party was a three member punk band from Maryland, U.S.A Members: Matt Riedl (vocals, bass) Lou Gigger (guitar) Gerry Rolfe (drums) Their style was completely different from the D.C. hardcore and the Boston HC in the early 80s. It ranged from short punk smashers to melodic pop influenced songs to even hardcore. All these styles were combined on their only LP Welcome to Maryland in 1984.
