For Amusement Only was an Australian pop punk band from Melbourne, Victoria. They released an EP in 2002, titled Where Did We Go Wrong? and an album in 2003 titled One for the Team. Both were released by Below Par Records. They were influenced by Mest, Jimmy Eat World, Goldfinger and Blink-182. Anfangs gab es eigentlich nur Michael Feerick. Der entschließt sich mit jungen 16 Jahren, Musik zu machen und sperrt sich daraufhin für drei Jahre in sein Zimmer in Nottingham ein und schreibt Songs. Aus diesem Material entsteht das Debütalbum von Amusement Parks On Fire. Es wird 2004 veröffentlicht und ist eigentlich eher ein Soloprojekt, den Feerick übernimmt sowohl Vocals als auch den Großteil aller Instrumente. Geoff Barrow von Portishead wird auf den jungen Künstler aufmerksam und bietet ihm einen Vertrag bei seinem Plattenlabel an. Den nimmt Feerick an und begibt sich kurz darauf auf Tour mit Bloc Party, Six By...

There are two bands by this name: 1) Canadian duo Keith Macpherson and Renee Lamoureux first met in their hometown of Winnipeg, Canada in 1997 - Renee was in hair-styling school; Keith was in teacher's college.
