Kimono ist eine isländisch-kanadische experimentelle Rockband, gegründet 2001 in Reikjavik (Island). Sie ging hervor aus einer instrumentalen Postrockband namens Kaktus. Von dort kamen der Gitarrist Gylfi Blöndal, der Schlagzeuger Thráinn Óskarsson und der Bassist Halldór Ragnarsson. Óskarsson verließ die Band 2003 und wurde durch Kjartan Bragi Bjarnason ersetzt, der zusammen mit Ragnarsson bis heute auch Mitglied bei Seabear ist. Weiteres Gründungsmitglied von Kimono war Alex MacNeil (Gitarre, Gesang). Das Debütalbum Mineur-Aggressife erschien 2003; das von der Kritik sehr gefeierte Album Arctic Death Ship 2005.
