James Last (17. April 1929 in Bremen - 9. Juni 2015 in Florida; eigentlich Hans Last) ist ein deutscher Bandleader, Komponist, Arrangeur und Musikproduzent. Nach seiner Ausbildung als Kadett an den Heeresmusikschulen in Frankfurt am Main und Bückeburg spielte er, damals noch als Hans Last, ab 1946 auf Initiative von Hans Günther Oesterreich als Bassist mit seinen Brüdern Werner und Robert im Tanz- und Unterhaltungsorchester von Radio Bremen und im Last-Becker Ensemble.
