•1987年 東海大学理学部に在籍していた森友嵐士、青木和義がT-BOLANの前身となるバンド“プリズナー”を結成。11月22日、ビーイング主催の第2回BADオーディション（目黒ライブステーションで開催）でグランプリを受賞。
•1988年7月22日、「BOLAN」としてビーイングのインディーズレーベル『YEAH』から「I WAITED FOR A TIME」でインディーズデビュー。ライブ活動を年間100本以上行う。その後、森友は他メンバーとの音楽性の相違により“BOLAN”を脱退し、新たなバンドを複数掛け持ちするなどして音楽活動を続け、その過程で五味孝氏、上野博文と出会う。森友脱退後の“BOLAN”は、しばらくしてギターとベースが脱退し活動停止状態になる。
•1990年 再び、青木と組む道を選んだ森友は、他のバンドで活動していた五味と上野を迎え入れ、“T-BOLAN”を再結成する。
•1991年7月、川島だりあ作詞・作曲、西田昌史（EARTHSHAKER）編曲・プロデュース（西田魔阿思惟名義）の『悲しみが痛いよ』でメジャーデビュー。以降、「離したくはない」「Bye For Now」「マリア」などの数々のヒット曲を生み出した。
•1995年、ライブツアー『LIVE HEAVEN '94～'95』中に、森友は原因不明の体調不良により喉の調子が悪い状態が続いており様子をみながらツアーを続けていた。しかし、ツアー最終公演であった3月26日大阪厚生年金会館大ホールでドクターストップがかかるもライブを敢行した。その後、翌年のシングル「Be Myself/Heart of Gold 1996」を境に新曲を発表することなく活動休止状態となる。
•1996年、活動停止中にベストアルバム「SINGLES」がリリースされミリオンセラーとなる。
•1999年12月、ベストアルバム「FINAL BEST GREATEST SONGS & MORE」、VHS「FINAL BEST LIVE HEAVEN～LIVE&CLIPS～」をリリース、また、森友嵐士による自伝エッセイ「泥だらけのエピローグ」が発売され、12月をもって解散した。 .
