イギリスのヨークシャー州で結成されたデスコア(初期)/メタルコア(現在)バンド。北米、ヨーロッパを中心に、そのファッション性とともに若者に絶大な人気を誇る。 バンドの構成はヴォーカル、ギターx2、ベース、ドラムの5人組。メタルコアとデスコア双方の要素を持ちデスコアと形容されることが多いが、セカンドアルバムではデジタルなサウンドを組み込んでみたりと、従来のデスコアという枠組みにとらわれないスタイルへと変容を遂げている。 2004年、それぞれのバンドで活動していたイギリスヨークシャー州の5人が集まり結成。同年、自主制作シングル「ザ・ベッドルーム・セッションズ」リリース。 2005年10月、サーティ・デイズ・オヴ・ナイトより「ディス・イズ・ホワット・ジ・エッジ・オヴ・ユア・シート・ワズ・メイド・フォー」リリース。 2006年1月30日、ヴィジブル・ノイズ より「ディス・イズ・ホワット・ジ・エッジ・オヴ・ユア・シート・ワズ・メイド・フォー」を再発。 2006年8月24日、Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer 2006受賞。 2006年10月30日、ヴィジブル・ノイズよりファーストフルアルバム『カウント・ユア・ブレッシング』リリース。（アメリカではイヤーエイク・レコード よりリリース） 2007年6月9日、イギリスのダウンロード・フェスティヴァル2007に出演。 2008年9月11日、アメリカのエピタフ・レコードとライセンス契約。 2008年9月29日、イギリスのヴィジブル・ノイズよりセカンドフルアルバム『スーサイド・シーズン』をリリース。（アメリカではエピタフ・レコードより2008年11月18日、オーストラリアではショック・レコードより2008年10月4日リリース。） 2009年3月、ギターを担当していたカーティス・ワードが脱退。 2009年5月6日大阪 club vijon、5月9日東京 原宿ASTRO HALLで行なわれたニュー・ブラッド Vol.75で初来日を果たす。 2009年7月、カーティス・ワードの代役として5月よりギターを担当していたジョナ・ ウィーンホーフェンが正式メンバーとして加入。 2010年9月1日東京 江東区 STUDIO COAST、9月2日大阪 浪速区なんばHatchでのブレット・フォー・マイ・ヴァレンタインのジャパンツアーのスペシャルゲストとして来日。 2010年10月4日、イギリスのヴィジブル・ノイズよりサードフルアルバム『ゼア・イズ・ア・ヘル・ビリーブ・ミー・アイヴ・シーン・イット・ゼア・イズ・ア・ヘヴン・レッツ・キープ・イット・ア・シークレット』をリリース。（アメリカではエピタフ・レコードより2010年10月5日、日本ではソニー・ミュージックジャパンインターナショナルより『ゼア・イズ・ア・ヘル. ゼア・イズ・ア・ヘヴン』として2010年10月6日リリース。） メンバー * オリヴァー・サイクス (Oli Sykes) - ボーカル 2004年- * リー・マリア (Lee Malia) - ギター 2004年- * ジョナ・ ウィーンホーフェン (Jona Weinhofen) - ギター 2009年- * マット･キーン (Matt Kean) - ベース 2004年- * マット・ニコルス (Matt Nicholls) - ドラム 2004年- .

4 Strings currently consists of Carlo Resoort (who mostly makes the music) and Jan De Vos (who mostly works on production and arrangement, and performs some songs). In 2004, there were some rumors of singer Vanessa van Hemert leaving the group, due to some new 4 Strings songs that were released that did not feature van Hemert. On the official 4 Strings website, Resoort debunked the rumors. Although in 2005, van Hemert did leave the group.
