メガデス（Megadeth、1982年 - 2002年,2004年-）は、アメリカのヘヴィメタル・ロックバンドで、「スラッシュメタル四天王（BIG4）」の一つに数えられる。 リーダーのデイヴ・ムステイン（ヴォーカル、ギター）が1983年のMetallica脱退”事件”後に結成。基本的にはムステインのワンマンバンドであり多くの楽曲がムステイン一人の名義である。 初期のメガデスの音楽性はスラッシュメタルがルーツであるが、デイヴ・ムステイン自身が”インテレクチュアル（知的な）・スラッシュ”と称したように高速で複雑なリフの絡み合いや非常に独特な楽曲展開を特徴とし他のスラッシュメタルとは一線を画す異色の存在である。 又ムステインとデイヴィッド・エレフソン（ベース）以外のメンバーは流動的であり、もう一人のギタリストには大抵の場合ギターの名手的人物がおかれる。典型的な楽曲のスタイルの一つとして前述の複雑なリフの絡み合いに加え、ムステインともう一人の両方に際立ったリードパートが存在しムステインが鋭く攻撃的なソロを弾く一方もう一人が流麗でメロディアスなソロを奏でる、というものが確立している。 現在は日本の芸能人と化した感のあるマーティ・フリードマン（ギター）がかつて在籍し、彼の得意とする捻りのあるメロディアスなソロはバンドの強力な個性であった為ニック・メンザ（ドラム）を含めた編成(1990-1998)を黄金期と呼ぶファンも少なくない。 2009年発表の12thアルバム「Endgame」はビルボードで9位、2011年発表の「Thirteen」は同11位と、キャリアを重ねた現在も高い人気を誇っている。ビルボードでの最高位は、1992年発表の5thアルバム「破滅へのカウントダウン」で記録した2位である。 ちなみに「メガデス（Megadeath）」という言葉の元の意味は核兵器の威力を死者数で表した単位で、1メガデスあたり100万人の殺傷力を表す。 バンド名から意図的にaを抜いたのは、死との関連性を薄めるためだとムステイン本人が語っている（バンド名から一部の音楽ファンからはデスメタルと勘違いされる事がある）。 1stアルバム以来数多くのアルバムジャケットに登場する骸骨のようなキャラクターはヴィック・ラトルヘッド（Vic Rattlehead)という名がついておりバンドのマスコットキャラクターである。 .

Omega Tribe was an English anarcho-punk band, formed in the early 1980s in Barnet, North London. Their first EP, "Angry Songs", was produced by Crass Records in 1982. Disco Inferno was a band formed in Essex, UK in 1989 by Ian Crause (guitar & vocals), Paul Wilmott (bass), Rob Whatley (drums) and Daniel Gish (keyboards). After the departure of Gish (who would later join Bark Psychosis) the three-piece Disco Inferno recorded the single 'Entertainment' with producer Charlie McIntosh.
